Program Description
Diabetes is a major health problem, the complications of which cause poor quality of life outcomes and may result in death. The management of diabetes requires both lifestyle and behavioral changes. A multidisciplinary approach towards the management of this condition can promote health and patient well-being. The online Diabetes Management Program is an online self-learning tool based on the American Diabetes Association (ADA) clinical guidelines. It provides online continuous education and professional development for diabetes educators, other healthcare practitioners, and enthusiastic students.
Who Can Enroll in This Program?
The program is available for healthcare professionals (diabetes/health educators, nurses, pharmacists, nutritionists, podiatrists, etc., and health sciences students.
Program Content
The program constitutes of nine modules including below topics with related assessments and activities
- Diabetes overview
- Diabetes common types and pathophysiology
- Diabetes short-term complications
- Diabetes long-term complications
- Insulin replacement therapy
- Insulin administration and titration
- Diabetes non-insulin pharmacotherapy
- Diabetes nutritional therapy
- Patient self-care approach

Duration:
- The program must be completed within 12 months from the date of commencement.
Assessment:
- Completion of end-of-module test is a must to access the next module (number of attempts is unlimited)
- After completing ALL modules, passing a final online assessment with a score of minimum 50% or more is a condition for eligibility to obtain the attendance certificate.
Enrolment/Registration Fee:
- Healthcare professionals: 30KD (USD 100)
- Students: 15KD (USD 50)
Refund Policy:
50% administration fee shall be deducted prior to the start date of the activity. On or after the start date, there will be no refund.
