Diabetes has affected more than 441,000 adults in Kuwait, becoming an extremely common disease. Diabetes has also proven to increase the risk of developing other diseases like kidney disease, foot problems, blindness, high blood pressure, low blood sugar and heart attack/stroke.
The high prevalence of diabetes creates the need for innovative research, clinical trials and evidence-based patient care. At DDI, we have dedicated our Sectors (Research, Medical, Operations) towards the prevention and treatment of diabetes.

We continuously strive to create a platform that applies our knowledge to translational research, or bench-to-bed: from basic sciences to clinical trials point-of-care applications, scientific findings and drug discoveries. Our five-year strategy allows us to focus on specific research charters, develop focused research projects and translate the findings to clinical applications. By doing so, we can engage in integrated initiatives that identify factors of diabetes management, treatment, and prevention. For the community, we aim to develop educational and awareness-raising programs that make a difference in our healthcare system.
