GIS Workshop at DDI for KU Students

Published on

The GeoHealth Lab at Dasman Diabetes Institute recently welcomed students from the College of Architecture at Kuwait University for a full-day Geographic Information Systems (GIS) training workshop, conducted as part of a formal internship program between the two institutions.

The workshop combined theoretical lectures with hands-on practical sessions, where students worked with satellite imagery and geospatial data to better understand the role of GIS in research and real-world applications.

This initiative reflects the growing collaboration between the GeoHealth Lab, the College of Architecture at Kuwait University, and Deakin University, centered around shared research interests at the intersection of urban design, environment, and public health.
