DDI Concludes its 2nd International Dasman Diabetes Summit 2026

The Dasman Diabetes Institute (DDI), established by the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences (KFAS), successfully concluded the Second Dasman International Diabetes Conference, held at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel – Kuwait from January 8 to 10, 2026. The event took place under the patronage and in the presence of His Excellency the Minister of Health, Dr. Ahmad Abdulwahab Al-Awadhi, featuring a select group of local and international specialists.

During the event, Dr. Al-Awadhi emphasized that diabetes remains one of the most prevalent chronic diseases globally and a leading cause of cardiovascular disease, kidney failure, vision loss, and amputations. He reaffirmed the Ministry of Health’s commitment to providing cutting-edge technology and modern medicines to ensure the highest standards of medical care.

Dr. Faisal Hamed Al-Refaei, Acting Director General of DDI, expressed pride in the conference’s success. He noted that the three-day event served as a vital platform for researchers to discuss innovative treatments and scientific breakthroughs. Dr. Al-Refaei highlighted DDI’s leadership in diabetes research and treatment within the Middle East, noting that such events align with the Institute’s mission to combat the disease and improve patient quality of life through advanced research and health promotion.
