Nia has been a nurse since 1988 and worked in Clinical Research since 2005 when she started as the clinical trial coordinator for the CF Gene Therapy group based at Imperial College and Royal Brompton Hospital London UK. She moved on to be the Respiratory Biomedical Research Unit Clinical Research Facility Manager, setting up the Unit in 2010, and then working as the Clinical Governance Manager at the Royal Brompton Hospital. Now she is the Nursing Manager at Dasman Diabetes Research Institute in Kuwait.
Nia trained as a Registered General Nurse the Royal Free Hospital before going to Oxford Brookes University, Oxford, UK, to complete a degree in Paediatric nursing (BA Paediatric Nursing 1993). She then moved to the Royal Brompton Hospital, London UK, and undertook a Cardio-thoracic course and later a diploma in asthma care. Nia has worked for a lot of her career at the Royal Brompton Hospital. She moved to Kuwait with her husband in 2017 initially working as the Lead Nurse in British School of Kuwait and then moving to work as the Nursing Manager here at Dasman Diabetes Institute starting in 2019.
