A delegation from the Dasman Diabetes Institute led by Dr. Kazem Behbehani, Director General along with visitors from University of Dundee led by Prof. Andrew Morris, Director of Biomedical Research Institute and Head of Planning and Development visited the Sabah Al-Ahmad Cardiac Center. The delegation was given a tour of the state of the art Cardiac Center by the Cardiology Consultant Dr. Farida Al-Habib. The Sabah Al-Ahmad Cardiology Center is a pride for all Kuwaitis, and the advanced technology it sports matches that available in the world’s best health centers. The Cardiac Center Intensive Care Unit (ICU) is outfitted with high-tech specialist equipment to aid patient recovery, including screens and DVDs which allow patients to monitor their own medical status. The Cardiac Center has 20 of the latest, most technologically advanced specialist beds. The Center houses cardiac catheterization units, alongside advanced operating theaters equipped with cutting-edge technology, including catheterization tables which can be adjusted for individual doctors. The Delegation of the Dasman Diabetes Institute as well as the University of Dundee visitors were impressed by the modern Center and all it has to offer. The Cardiac Center was inaugurated on 10th of February 2010 under the patronage of His Highness the Amir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmed Al Jaber Al-Sabah who deputized the Health Minister Dr. Hilal Al Sayer to attend the opening ceremony. The purpose of this visit was to discuss potential collaboration between Dasman Diabetes Institute, University of Dundee and Sabah Al-Ahmad Cardiac Center. Issues of mutual concern were talked about between all sides.
