The National Institutes of Health (NIH), Harvard Medical Faculty Physicians and Dasman Diabetes Institute conducted a research seminar titled “Metabolic Dysfunction & Type 2 Diabetes in Children & Adults: New Concepts & Potential Strategies for Prevention” on 15th April 2012 at DDI.

Dr. Kristina Rother, one of the lecturers, spoke about Challenges of Pediatric Type 2 Diabetes and Novel Treatment Strategies. Dr. Francine Welty illustrated the Clinical Strategy to Prevent Weight Gain and Type 2 Diabetes. During the seminar, Dr. Evan Rosen presented a lecture as well titled An Epigenomic Basis for Metabolic Dysfunction: Changes Taken Out of Sequence. The seminar wrapped up with a lecture presented by Dr. Kong Chen on Energy Metabolism and Obesity in Humans: From Technologies to Applications.

Many physicians, researchers and healthcare professionals attended the seminar and were awarded certificates of attendance with 4 CME credits.
