Prof. Andrew Morris, Director of Biomedical Research Institute and Head of Planning and Development at University of Dundee, along with Dr. Mairi Scott, Director of Professional Development Academy, Division of Clinical & Population Sciences and Education – University of Dundee, Mr. David Sibbald and Mr. Rodrigo Barnes presented the third clinical workshop on “The Optimal Management of Diabetes and its Complications”. It is a part of the ongoing series of workshops by the Kuwait Scotland Health Innovation Network. This workshop was held on 29th September 2010 at the Dasman Diabetes Institute.

The key aims and objectives of the workshop were as follows:

  1. To review optimal management of type 2 diabetes
  2. To discuss educational opportunities to support inter-disciplinary learning
  3. To discuss what guidelines, standards and patient information resources are required to run a high quality service
  4. Informatics update: region wide clinical information improvement

The workshop was attended by many health care professionals from different hospitals and polyclinics in Kuwait as well as the management and staff of the Dasman Diabetes Institute.
