Dasman Diabetes Institute which was founded by Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences, held a lecture on Monday, March 16th, 2015 – at 2 pm. The lecture was titled “Pregnancy Complications and Type 2 Diabetes Risk in Women”. The lecture was presented by Dr. Tamarra James-Todd, MPH, PhD, Mark and Catherine Winkler Assistant Professor of Environmental Reproductive and Prenatal Epidemiology, Department of Environmental Health, Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health.

The lecture was well attended by many healthcare professionals from different academic and medical backgrounds from Kuwait University, Ministry of Health and the private medical/health sector, who commented on the beneficial and highly valuable content of the lecture. Holding such lectures and conferences stems from the mission of Dasman Diabetes Institute which is “To prevent, control and mitigate the impact of diabetes and related conditions in Kuwait through effective programs of research, training, education, and health promotion and thereby improve quality of life in the population”.
