Dasman Diabetes Institute in collaboration with Brigham and Women’s Hospital a Harvard Medical School affiliate recently organized a one day symposium, titled “Pain Management in Diabetes: Facts and Future” on December 2nd, 2014.

The symposium covered a range of topics from a multidisciplinary faculty and experts in the following concentrations: behavioral pain management, diabetes and pain, interventional pain management, musculoskeletal pain syndromes, neurology, pain and chemical dependency, pharmacotherapy, and painful neuropathic pain management. The symposium also marked the initiation of research collaboration with Brigham and Women’s Hospital a Harvard Medical School affiliate on an epidemiological study of pain and its management in the State of Kuwait. The conference was deemed successful and received positive feedback from the visiting delegates and the participants. Participants also received CME credit from the Kuwait Institute for Medical Specialization.

The conference was well attended with more than 120 healthcare professionals including faculty and staff from Dasman Diabetes Institute, Kuwait University, Ministry of Health and private hospitals.
