A lecture on Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus Aureus(MRSA)was conducted at Dasman Diabetes Institute on Wednesday, 6th June 2012.

The lecture was presented by Dr. Mona Foda Salama (MD,MSc, Ph.D, CIC), Infection Control Specialist at DDI. During the lecture, Dr. Salama spoke about various topics such as; A Short History of MRSA, MRSA problem in health care settings, Why MRSA infections are increasing?, Prevalence of methicillin resistance among S. aureus isolates world-wide, Impact of MRSA in the Burn Unit In Kuwait, Types of MRSA (Healthcare associated & Community associated ), Screening Requirements, Infection control precautions and other relevant subjects.

Clinicians and healthcare professionals from the Institute as well as other healthcare practitioners from MoH attended the lecture.
