What is the Kuwait-Scotland eHealth Innovation Network?
The Kuwait–Scotland eHealth Innovation Network brings together the Dasman Diabetes Institute, the Ministry of Health in Kuwait and The University of Dundee, in collaboration with NHS Tayside and Aridhia Informatics Limited. This high level proposal defined a collaboration with the Dasman Diabetes Institute that had three core components:
- Capacity building through training and development of staff
- Effective and safe treatment of patients through real time integration of clinical and administrative information services for disease management, audit and governance.
- Scientific advance through a lively engagement with the international research community.
The programme was started in June 2010.
“We are very excited about the global reach of this partnership. This innovative network embeds education, informatics and quality improvement at the heart of health care transformation". Professor Andrew Morris, Director of the Biomedical Research institute, University of Dundee

"The joint development of a programme that combines education, research and enhanced clinical care for patients with diabetes between Kuwait and Dundee is extremely exciting - it offers real prospect for innovation and quality enhancement that will be to the benefit of all partners in the enterprise". Professor John Connell, Dean of Medicine, University of Dundee
