Dasman Diabetes Institute (DDI) believes in raising awareness of diabetes. In honor of World Diabetes Day 2014, DDI launched the “Go Blue Kuwait Campaign”. The “Go Blue Kuwait Campaign” promoted the mission of the institute in terms of educating the public through public health promotion and awareness of diabetes. Over the course of five weeks, DDI had a booth at The Avenues Mall Kuwait, every Friday from 17 October – 14 November 2014.

This campaign was organized by the Department of Business development in collaboration with all relevant departments like, Education, Nutrition, Fitness and rehabilitation, Clinical Pharmacology, Public Relations and Media Services, Nursing and Clinical Services.
The range of activities at the events involved activities like blood sugar screening, diabetes risks assessments, distribution of educational material, fitness tips and healthy eating habits. Additionally healthy snacks were distributed to the visitors and healthcare professionals were available to answer additional questions raised by the visitors. Activities for children included face painting, games, and the distribution of “Little Plato” magazines which is a DDI original publication to promote healthy lifestyles in children.
