Expo Milano 2015 is the Universal Exhibition that Milan, Italy, hosted from May-October 2015. About 140 countries participated in this six-month event, and were home to over 20 million visitors. Each country showcased their highly technological advancements with the intention of establishing a better tomorrow. The aim was to create a safer and healthier environment, providing adequate food for all populations, all the while giving our planet the respect it deserves.

Dasman Diabetes Institute (DDI), which was established by Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences participated in the Expo Milano 2015 from September 20th-25th. The Ministry of Information endorsed DDI and sent 10 of its employees to man a booth provided for the Institute, located in the Kuwait Pavilion. Several departments contributed their efforts to this Expo including: Nutrition, Education & Training, Clinical Services, Fitness & Rehabilitation Center, and Public Relations. The booth received a considerable amount of visitors where questions about the Institute were asked, and multi-dimensional professional advice was given.

The Expo resulted in many positive outcomes. DDI gained great publicity as the event generated a high number of foot traffic. During this time, the exchanging of ideas and cultures were made, and new friendships and collaborations were established. The diversified countries and advanced technology shed light on the great accomplishments that can be achieved for the generations to come.
