A lecture titled “Embryonic Stem Cells – Prospects for Developmental Biology and Cell Therapy” was presented recently by Dr. Ashraf Al-Madhoun who is a Senior Research Scientist and Course Coordinator at Department of Biochemistry, Microbiology and Immunology, University of Ottawa, Canada. The lecture took place on 2nd January 2012 at Dasman Diabetes Institute. The lecture highlighted the field of research mainly related to Stem Cells. In additions, Dr. Al-Madhoun discussed the understanding of the genetic and molecular events associated with embryonic stem cells (ESCs) differentiation into cardiac and skeletal muscles.
