Dasman Diabetes Institute participated in the World Diabetes Congress which was held in Dubai, 4-8 December 2011.

Dasman Institute’s booth in Dubai attracted many visitors from all over the world, who passed by to inquire about diabetes and the services that DDI offers. Visitors questions were answered by some of DDI’s doctors as well as the PR and Media Services team who were on hand and presented various gift items and health brochures dealing with diabetes and its related conditions to the public.

This is the first World Diabetes Congress to be organised in the Middle East and North Africa Region – a region which is enormously affected by diabetes. The International Diabetes Federation aims to consolidate the direction of previous congresses and push boundaries to enhance the lives of people with diabetes.

The Programme Committee aspires to create a wide-ranging programme covering all aspects of the diabetes field. The five programme streams for the congress are: Clinical and Basic Science, Education and Integrated Care, Global Challenges in Health, Health Systems and Epidemiology, and Life with Diabetes.
