Meet the Trainers of the MFC

Tatsiana Surzhenka

Tatsiana Surzhenka is a fitness instructor who specializes in group exercise classes (Pilates, yoga, aqua aerobics).

She graduated from Yanka Kupala University (Belarus) and was awarded the qualification: PE teacher, and organizer of sports and recreation activities.

She is a certified instructor of step aerobics and spinning classes. Tatsiana is interested in new styles of fitness training and is constantly working on updating her knowledge and skills.

Maria Victoria Podiquit

Maria Victoria is currently the Aqua Fitness Instructor and Lifeguard at the Fitness Center. Victoria received a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Adamson University in Manila, Philippines in 1998.

She belongs to a Swimming team in Adamson as well as Waterpolo Philippine team. Maria Victoria is a PADI Certified Open Water Diver and also a PADI certified Advanced Open Water Diver. She holds a FINA certification which enables her to be a water polo referee. She is certified by CMAS as a Rescue Diver and by the American Heart Association in First Aid and BLS. She is certified with American Lifeguards Association, as well as the American Swimming Coaches Level I & II.

Victoria loves the water!

In the past, she has worked for both Flex and Champions Health Clubs as an Aqua Fitness Instructor and Lifeguard.

Dennis Taliping

Dennis Taliping is a fitness instructor at the Medical Fitness Center in DDI. Dennis has been working for DDI for 4 years. He holds a Bachelor Degree of Science in Physical Therapy from the Our Lady of Fatima University. Dennis passed the Philippine Licensure Examination for Physical Therapy since 2002 and worked as a physical therapist in the Malabon Municipal Hospital for 6 years at the same time as freelance trainer for 5 years in the Slimmers World International. He also worked also as an Exercise specialist at the Holiday Inn, Salmiya for 3 years.

Dennis has attended several orthopedic and neurological seminars. He is BLS certified. He also attended a fitness and sports rehabilitation certification seminar.

Dennis is passionate about serving people and helping them improve their ability to function in their daily lives by delivering individualized fitness programs

Yahia

Yahia has worked as a Fitness Instructor at the MFC since April 2010 .He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education from Minya University. His academic Studies include Kinesiology, sports injuries, exercise physiology, anatomy, aerobics and psychology of sports. He also has a diploma in Sports Medicine Sidelined and Physiotherapy from the Open University for Medical Sciences. Yehia has a Lifeguard certification from American Lifeguard Association. He also has Water Aerobics instructor Certification from American Sports and Fitness Association. In addition to that, Yahia has the total body resistance exercise (TRX) certificate from American council on exercise (ACE).

He is CPR and BLS certified from American Heart Association as well as the Egyptian lifeguard certificate. His work experience includes working as a fitness instructor at Minya Sports Stadium, and a Physical education teacher in the school system.

Aprile Verzola

Aprile Verzola has been teaching Group Exercise Classes such as kickboxing, step aerobics, circuit, cycling and toning classes for over 14 years.  She is an ACE Certified Group Exercise Instructor since 2006.  In her spare time, she loves to play badminton and volleyball.  Aprile is passionate about her profession and thrives on learning new skills and tools that will improve her craft in fitness.

Juan Fortunato T. Awa

Juan joined the Medical Fitness Center in Nov, 2016. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education from the Polytechnic University of the Philippines, and a Diploma in Exercise and Sports Science from the University of the Philippines. He has a CPR and AED certification from the American Heart Association and has attended numerous  sports, exercise science and fitness seminars and workshops.

In the past, Juan worked for 360 Fitness Club as Strength and Conditioning Coach for 2 years and at Oxygen Fitness Center as Group Exercise Instructor for 4 years. He also worked with Top Athletes in Kuwait as Strength and Conditioning Coach.

Juan loves challenging sports like Triathlon and different kind of Team Sports. His passion for exercise and sports drives him to help the community be more physically active and healthy.
