In order to raise awareness among the community and preserve the environment, The Dasman Diabetes Institute has recently put into practice a system of waste recycling.

Efficient waste reduction, re-use and recycling measures will result in a healthier environment which in itself is a step any organization should take as part of their corporate social responsibility (CSR).

This system was implemented in cooperation with one of the specialized companies in this field.  This initiative was done by Ms. Dalal Al Ghawas, Research Associate at Dasman Diabetes Institute, who presented a detailed lecture on the waste recycling system.

This system was implemented in cooperation with one of the specialized companies in this field.  This initiative was done by Ms. Dalal Al Ghawas, Research Associate at Dasman Diabetes Institute, who presented a detailed lecture on the waste recycling system.

During this presentation, the anticipated environmental and economic benefits as well as the necessity of implementing this system were elaborated and discussed.

The guidelines of waste disposal were demonstrated and recycling bins were placed around the Institute.  This system provides individual bins for recycling three different categories of waste namely metal, paper, plastic products and its derivatives.  The recycling bins are available in different sizes with labels indicating the classification of waste.

Around 4000 tons of residential waste is being dumped at the landfill, which results in trillions of methane gasses being released from the landfill so please help the environment by recycling.
