Recently, Dasman Diabetes Institute, which was established by Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences (KFAS), held a research project management workshop to educate participants on how to manage research studies by introducing best practices in the management of research projects outlining the need to plan, schedule and effectively control assignments. The workshop program includes three sessions; session one describes the basics and fundamentals of research project management followed by differentiation between translational vs. clinical research. Session two aims to educate participants on the 3 Ps (Proposal, Publication and Poster) presentations. Meanwhile, Session three summarizes the rules of referencing for any research projects and the use of Endnote program for referencing. Finally, all participants engaged in a group activity to practice the skills learned during the three sessions. The workshop took place in DDI on 12th and 13th March, 2014.
