Dasman Diabetes Institute which was founded by Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences (KFAS), celebrated its official recognition which was declared by the Executive Board of the Health Ministers’ Council for Cooperation Council States, as a Center of Excellence and Reference for diabetes mellitus in the GCC countries. The celebration was held at Dasman Diabetes Institute, on Monday, 31st March, under the auspice of H. E. the Minister of Health represented by Dr. Qais Al Duwairi, Assistant Undersecretary for Public Health. Dr. Tawfik Khoja, Director-General of the Executive Board of the Health Ministers’ Council for Cooperation Council States, who came from Saudi Arabia for the purpose of being present at this celebration which he described as a big achievement, not only for Kuwait, but for the entire region. During the celebration Dr. Kazem Behbehani, Director-General of Dasman Diabetes Institute, expressed his gratitude and sincere appreciation for the fine work and continuous efforts that has been exerted to add to the progress and development that the Institute is striving for to raise the standards of health, medicine and science in our beloved country, Kuwait.
