In collaboration with Kuwait Healthy Living Initiative at Dasman Diabetes Institute, LOYAC held its 8th annual Blood Donation campaign — ‘Ride to Save’ on Saturday, 23rd January 2016 at the Institute. The blood drive was sponsored by Al Ahli Bank of Kuwait and supported by Dasman Diabetes Institute and the Central Blood Bank. The blood ride began at LOYAC headquarters at Al Qibliya School, where a swarm of bikers from the BMW Motorcycle Club, Ducati Club, and Motolady Club, as well as representation from several other active motorcycle clubs in Kuwait and the GCC, gathered for pre-registration with medical assistants performing brief examinations to determine eligibility for donation. The bikers then proceeded to Dasman Diabetes Institute in a convoy escorted by officials from the Ministry of Interior, demonstrating a spectacle of solidarity for onlookers.

Organizing the donation drive was a means to broadcast the message to the Kuwaiti public that motorcycle riders make up an active segment of society that are involved in community outreach programs. The purpose of the event was due to its conviction on the importance of blood donation. The initiative was a great humanitarian gesture that brought all sectors of society together for a good cause.
