Dasman Diabetes Institute recently held a lecture titled “Adaptation to Chronic Illness and General Life Span Development”, on March 25th, 2013. The lecture was presented by Dr. Robert Simmermon, Brookwood Hills Psychological Associates Atlanta, GA, USA. Dr. Robert Simmermon is a licensed psychologist practicing in the United States. He works with individuals dealing with issues of quality of life and relationships. The focus of this talk was on life span developmental issues, especially in relation to chronic diseases, as well as career, and the impact of mass media on individuals and organizations.

The primary objective was to introduce and expand upon the role of developmental adaptation in mental and physical treatment by clarifying differences and similarities between a case history and a life history via a structural intersection of science and story (Narrative Psychology).

Many healthcare professionals and interested individuals attended the lecture.
